Ramayana: National Award-winning actor CONFIRMS playing key role in Ranbir Kapoor Yash's movie

Namit Malhotra and Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming magnum opus Ramayana has remained the talk of the town since its announcement. While the makers have confirmed the lead cast for the cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic, most of the associated actors re-shared the teaser of the movie, expressing their happiness for being a part of the movie. Well, recently, a National award-winning actor ended the speculations and confirmed playing Bharat in the movie.

Marathi film actor Addinath Kothare, recently, confirmed playing a key role in Tiwari's Ramayana. During an interview with Bollywood Hungama, the actor revealed that he is essaying Bharat, Lord Rama's younger brother, in the magnum opus.

Further, he also expressed his gratitude to the filmmakers, particularly casting director Mukesh Chhabra, for entrusting him with a significant role.

He was quoted as saying, "It’s a blessing. It’s the biggest film made on Indian soil. It’s also one of the biggest films made globally today. To be a part of it, I am truly indebted to Mukesh Chhabra. He is the man who cast me and, of course, Nitesh sir, for choosing me for the character of Bharat. And also Namit Malhotra sir, who believed in me and entrusted me with such a big responsibility of such an important character.”

Further, talking about the movie and his character, Addinath said, "It’s one of the most well-planned cinema on Indian soil, I think. We are fortunate enough to witness this from close quarters." 

"And I am really fortunate to have got this opportunity in such a big film, not just as an actor, filmmaker, human being, but just to get to witness this humongous scale of film production. No film school can teach you this," he added.

Addinath primarily works in Marathi cinema. He was recently seen in The Royals.

Earlier, reports were abuzz that The Kerala Story actress Sonia Balani has been roped in opposite Ravi Dubey, who is playing Lakshman in Tiwari's Ramayana. According to the earlier report by Times of India, Sonia will be playing Urmila in the magnum opus. A close source to the development revealed the news portal that Sonia and Ravi have already begun shooting for their parts at a studio in Mumbai.

However, according to the latest media reports, television actress Surabhi Das, best known for her role in Nima Denzongpa, is making her Bollywood debut with Ramayana. A report by TellyChakkar stated that Surabhi will be portraying Urmila, Lakshman's wife, in the grand mythological saga. The Assamese actress shared a sweet collection of behind-the-scenes pictures with Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Nitesh Tiwari.
