The Ram Mandir in Ayodhya will be consecrated amid much fanfare on January 22 in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several other dignitaries, including athletes, movie stars, spiritual leaders, and businesspersons.

Lakhs of devotees are expected to descend on the temple town on the occasion of ‘pran pratishtha’. Several celebrities including Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan have been invited to the inauguration ceremony.

Well, ahead of the auspicious ceremony, here are four upcoming movies, based on Ramayana, that are already in the pipeline.

1.    Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’: It is one of the most ambitious projects of Nitesh Tiwari. If reports are to be believed, it will be a three-part movie on Ramayana. It is said that Ranbir Kapoor will essay the role of Lord Ram with Sai Pallavi playing the role of Sita. Interestingly, Sunny Deol will be seen as Lord Hanuman while KGF star Yash may play the role of ‘Raavan’.

2.    Kangana’s untitled movie: The Queen of Bollywood has revealed that she has a script ready for a film based on Ayodhya. She had also paid a visit to Ram Mandir, which was under-construction then, to seek blessings. However, she is yet to reveal further details of her dream project.

3.    695: Triumph of Faith: The film which will feature Arun Govil in the lead will narrate the struggle and sacrifice made during the construction of Ram Mandir temple in Ayodhya. Arun Govil is best known for his role as Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana.

4.    HanuMan: The upcoming movie stars Teja Sajja and will be a cinematic experience. The trailer of the film, directed by Prasanth Varma is already making waves across all platforms. Even though Rebel star Prabhas’ ‘Adipurush’ failed to impress the audience due to the bad quality VFX, fans are hopeful that HanuMan will do well at the box office.
