Ram Charan, Kiara Advani
Ram Charan gained international recognition after the release of RRR. After the movie won an Oscar at the prestigious Academy Awards last year, both Jr. NTR and Ram Charan started eyeing a pan-India career. While Jr NTR was roped in to play the lead antagonist in War 2, the Naayak actor turned his attention to a big-budget movie from Shankar with Kiara Advani in the lead. While this movie was announced much before the release of RRR, it was named Game Changer in 2023.
Shankar is a renowned name in the South Indian movie industry and earlier has given some major blockbusters. He is known more for using VFX creatively in his movies. And that is why when ;Ram Charan signed Shankar’s movie more than a year ago, the move was considered brilliant considering Shankar’s previous track record.
However, after the debacle of the recently released Hindustani 2 helmed by Shankar, the hype of Ram Charan’s Game Changer has suddenly died down. Hindustani 2 was a sequel to Kamal Haasan’s earlier big hit Hindustani in which he played the famous role of Senapathy. The duo of Kamal and Shankar were so confident of the sequel’s success that they had already discussed the possibility of Hindustani 3.
But in the Psunami of Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD, Shankar’s Hindustani 2 went unnoticed with many calling the story and the execution old and outdated. Since the release of Hindustani 2, there has been no update on Game Changer which has left the fans of the Yevadu actor disappointed. Even the Kiara and Ram Charan song released earlier failed to trigger any hype.
The film is slated to release this Christmas and the shooting is almost complete. Incidentally, Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna’s much-awaited Pushpa: The Rule will also be released on December 6. While there may be a huge gap between the releases of these two movies, there is a strong chance that Pushpa 2 might continue to dominate the box office when Game Changer hits the theaters.
