Rajinikanth under fire for 'disrespecting' housemaid at Anant Ambani-Radhika’s pre-wedding bash

Megastar Rajinikanth, known for his down-to-earth attitude, has come under fire for allegedly disrespecting his housemaid, during business tycoon Mukesh Ambani’s son Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding bash.

A video showing him directing his housekeeper to move aside for pictures has led to online backlash against the actor’s actions. The video is from Jamnagar, Gujarat where he appeared with his wife Latha Rajinikanth and daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth.

Superstar Rajinikanth was among the several celebrity guests that included the who’s who of Bollywood. It was actor Ram Charan and his wife along with Rajinikanth from the south. While the video shows Rajini happily greeting the paps stationed outside the wedding venue, a few eagle-eyed netizens noticed him asking his house help to step aside before posing with his family.

Although the megastar’s action was done politely, netizens still criticised him for the ‘humiliating gesture’. Many even found it offensive.

“Cheapest behaviour from our megastar, never expected anything like this from Rajini sir,” a fan commented.

Another fan shared, “I feel for the lady’s dignity, she was shown her place. If only she had similar kind of money, she wouldn’t have felt insulted.”

However, a section of Rajini fans came out in his support and said that it was normal as he was posing for a family picture.

“What’s wrong in that? Will you allow your neighbour to be part of your family pic?” a fan questioned.

Another fan wrote, “That was family picture. I don’t see her anything abnormal. Please don’t make it a controversy.”
