Ending all speculations, the shooting of the much-awaited action-packed movie Pushpa 2: The Rule finally kick-started in Odisha’s Malkangiri on Tuesday. Now, it has been confirmed that Tollywood Icon Star Allu Arjun aka Pushpa will expand his red sandalwood smuggling racket in the dense Poleru forest of the district.

Earlier on Monday, different props and shooting set supplies arrived at the location in Poleru village of Manyamkonda panchayat under Kalimela block of the district. Along with heaps of huge logs resembling red sandalwood, police uniforms, weapons, other costumes, and actors’ vanity have already arrived on the sets. While more props and shooting supplies continue to arrive at the location, the makers kick-started shooting on Tuesday.

Actor Allu Arjun will arrive at the location in a private chopper and other actors will turn up soon. Now, everyone is waiting for a green signal from helmer Sukumar, informed sources. 

While crew members and the production team are already on the spot, in the first schedule, shooting has kick-started in Poleru. The next schedule for shooting is planned in Malkangiri’s Swabhiman Anchal, sources informed. Meanwhile, the production team is exploring different locations of Swabhiman Anchal including Hentalguda, the hanging bridge, and the Saptadhara River. 

Locals in large numbers have flocked to the locations after the reports of the Pushpa 2 shooting were out. Several lucky locals have bagged the golden opportunity of being a part of the movie as actors. Several locals, who came to watch the shooting, were roped in as cops. 

“I came here as a spectator, but I got the opportunity to work in the movie. I am excited to be one among around 50 cops. Today, a sequence of red sandalwood smuggling was shot and the shooting will continue now,” said Ashis Ray, junior artiste. 

“I came along with my husband (Ashis) to watch the shooting. However, he got the opportunity to act in the movie as a cop. I am very much excited,” said Deepika Ray.

Meanwhile, shooting locations are getting crowded with excited fans, with hopes of getting a glimpse of Allu Arjun. 

As a part of Pushparaj aka Pushpa’s empire expansion, Andhra-Odisha border areas have been selected for shooting a few scenes of the sequel. Pushpa will expand his smuggling in Odisha after Andhra and the sequel will most likely start from the end of Pushpa: The Rise.
