Punjab is facing one of its worst floods in decades, with over 1,400 villages across 23 districts submerged due to heavy monsoon rains and overflowing rivers. The disaster has claimed more than 30 lives, displaced over 3.5 lakh residents, and destroyed around 1.5 lakh hectares of farmland. Rescue operations by the Army, NDRF, BSF, and local authorities are underway, including evacuations, drone deliveries of essentials, airlifts, and relief camps for affected families.

Randeep Hooda Steps In To Help Flood-hit Victims

In this hour of crisis, Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda stepped up in a remarkable show of solidarity. He visited flood-hit Gurdaspur, collaborating with the Global Sikhs Foundation to distribute food, clothes, and other essential supplies. Photos and videos of him on the ground quickly went viral, with netizens hailing him as "the real celebrity" for his hands-on relief work.

An Instagram post from the foundation read: "True to his spirit, @randeephooda has once again stood up for Punjab. He is on ground zero with Global Sikhs, extending his support in our ongoing flood relief efforts. Together, we continue to bring hope and help where it’s needed most".

Stars Unite for Punjab

Randeep is not alone. A number of celebrities have rallied to the cause.

Diljit Dosanjh has adopted ten flood-affected villages in Gurdaspur and Amritsar, collaborating with NGOs and local administration. Meanwhile, Sonu Sood affirmed, “Punjab is my soul,” promising unwavering help and inviting people to reach out for assistance and Ammy Virk pledged support to 200 families, offering stability and dignity through shelter assistance.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Dutt shared an emotional message of solidarity, praised for carrying on his father Sunil Dutt’s humanitarian legacy and Shah Rukh Khan sent strength and encouragement via social media, affirming, “The spirit of Punjab shall never break”.

Alia Bhatt offered prayers and heartfelt concern, highlighting the need for healing and rebuilding.
