Actor Puneeth Rajkumar today passed away at the age of 46. As per reports, the south superstar was admitted to Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru after suffering from chest pain at around 11.30 am

As per reports, the actor was working out in a gym when he suffered a heart attack. He was then rushed to the hospital.

Earlier, Dr Ranganath Nayak had said that the actor was admitted in a serious condition. "Can't say anything as of now. His condition was bad when brought to the hospital," said Nayak.

Puneeth, who started his career as a child artist with Bettadu Hoovi in 1985, and even won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist, is the son of superstar Rajkumar.

Puneeth was last seen in Yuvarathnaa, which hit the theatres early this year and dominated the box office to become a blockbuster.

Meanwhile, the news of his untimely death has come as a massive shock to his legions of fans and members of the film fraternity. "Heartbroken Broken. Will always miss you my brother. #PuneethRajkumar," tweeted Sonu Sood.
