Priyanka Chopra Jonas made a bold decision when she decided to shift her base to the US and started giving auditions for Hollywood movies. While many may think that being such a big name in Bollywood must have helped her to get early projects in the Western movie industry, recently PeeCee opened up about the harsh reality she had to face during her initial days in Hollywood.

During her recent podcast on Cavanaugh James' Read The Room Priyanka Chopra Jonas called the initial days in Hollywood the darkest phase of her life. She said, "It was the industry that I didn't know, the people, I didn't know, I didn't have friends who would call at 2 in the morning. That's very important. I was very lonely, and it was very scary. I was in New York City, which, anyway, is a daunting city. It was a dark period of my life."

She added that even though she was a big star in her home country with around six magazine covers, Hollywood did not welcome her easily and she was forced to rebuild her career from scratch. She was even refused meetings which was a huge blow to her.

But the Bajirao Mastani actress remained resilient and refused to let the harsh conditions to rip her apart. The actress who started her career in the Western world with Quantico explained, “I am a very ambitious woman. I run extremely quickly. I want everything to be resolved. I am solution-oriented. However, there are occasions when no remedies exist and you must accept the situation. That's the lesson that enabled me to ride the wave rather than fight it."

Work-wise PeeCee is as of now busy shooting an upcoming action comedy titled Heads of State. It also stars John Cena , Jack Quaid, Idris Elba, and Ilya Naishullar. She will also star next in The Bluff helmed by Frank E Flowers.
