  • Prabhas and Kriti Sanon's Adipurush has opened to a massive pre-booking sales.
  • Will Adipurush match the success of Baahubali?

In the last few years, South Indian superstars like Yash and Allu Arjun gained mammoth following across India as their movies became highly successful. But the one person who made the real breakthrough of getting the Southern movies and actors an identity across pan India is undoubtedly Prabhas.

The Darling as Baahubali gave Prabhas international recognition and made him a national hero. And since then, several Southern movies have been successfully dominating the box offices across India. The next big movie all set to hit the theatre is Prabhas starrer Adipurush.

It is worth mentioning that despite Baahubali's success, a couple of movies that followed next could not repeat the same feat. But things might change for Prabhas soon as Adipurush helmed by Om Raut gears up to hit the theatres on June 16.

The latest trailer has received an overwhelming response. From Prabhas’ visit to Tirumalai temple to the grand launch of the trailer, everything has been organized on a large scale triggering massive hype for Adipurush.

Huge response to advance bookings

The advance booking for the tickets opened to a big response in many cities and surprisingly the pre-booking figures are highly impressive and in some cities have even crossed the target set by superhit Southern movies like Pushpa and RRR.

Interestingly, even the stock market channels that usually discuss businesses and ups and downs in the share market are keeping a keen eye on advance bookings for Adipurush in PVR which speak volumes of the excitement this 3D movie has instigated.

Those who had the fortune of watching the Censor copy of Adipurush have given a very good rating for this movie based on the mythological epic Ramayana that also features Kriti Sanon, Sunny Singh, and Saif Ali Khan as Sita, Lakshman, and Lankesh respectively.

The review gives a “must-watch” verdict and describes the movie as visually stunning, and engrossing that takes the audience into the divine era.

Critics hail Prabhas’ stardom

Critics across India have hailed Prabhas for his stardom and impact as Raghav on the audience saying that usually for a good pan India opening of Rs 30 to 40 crore, the movie should have a big Bollywood star. However, Prabhas’ hold in South India has ensured that the movie gets a Rs 50 crore extra opening in the South.

When Rajamouli made Baahubali, he had no one but Prabhas in his mind for the lead role because he knew that only this Rebel star can carry that larger-than-life image convincingly on the silver screen. Ditto Om Raut when the director said that only Prabhas has the personality and the eyes that can bring alive the character of Raghav alive on the screen.

Will Adipurush match the success of Baahubali?

The movie’s first teaser was badly slammed for poor VFX. But what followed after the improvements won hearts and it seems that the efforts are going to be rewarded manifold. So, will Adipurush emerge as another Baahubali for Prabhas?
