People's Superstar: Shraddha Kapoor's PR going overdrive after Stree 2's massive success?

Stree 2 has become a super duper hit. Looking at the way the movie is currently getting a response at the box office no one will be surprised if it surpasses the lifetime business of Jawan by the time it ends its run. While it was one of the most anticipated movies, no one expected it to become such a big blockbuster. Of course, the August 15 release and follow-up weekend helped the movie to get a good opening. Nevertheless, Stree 2 has managed to continue its hold all through the following weeks and weekends.

Interestingly, all through the promotions, it was felt that the movie belonged to Shraddha Kapoor . But when the flick was released, it came as a surprise to many that Shraddha had a very small role as compared to other actors but even then it was being promoted as a Shraddha Kapoor movie. What’s more many social media pages captioned their posts as “Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2” just completely ignoring the fact that it is Rajkummar Rao who is the male lead and has played a major role in the success of this sequel.

But all these promotions helped Shraddha to become the second most followed celebrity on Instagram surpassing PM Narendra Modi and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Even her stardom has taken a big leap with leading film magazines calling her People’s superstar and comparing her success with the three big Khans in the industry.

Albeit this seems to be the work of the Baazi actress’ PR team who are promoting her with all sorts of starry names cashing on the success of Stree 2. Many social media users have slammed these as PR of Shraddha Kapoor overhyping her achievements or going overdrive.

Even co-actors like  Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana have indirectly called out the notorious game of Shraddha’s PR reason for giving most of the credit for Stree 2’s success to the actress.
