Indian Idol 12 fame Pawandeep Rajan and Arunita Kanjilal have landed in a legal soup after they reportedly denied to shoot and promote the music album by M/s Octopus Entertainment Pvt Ltd with whom they had signed a contract for an album.

As per Octopus Entertainment, first Arunita and then Pawandeep stopped cooperating in shooting and for the promotion and release of the songs despite Sony’s commitment.

Reportedly, Octopus Entertainment has approached the Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPPA) and informed the association that Sony Pictures Network India Private Limited had entered into an agreement with them for providing services of Pawandeep and Arunita for 20 songs before they were crowned the winner and first runner-up of the show, respectively.

However, the artists have not co-operated with them after recording one song. They also revealed that when they informed Sony about the same, they also did not take any action but instead were supportive of the artists, forcing them to approach the IMPPA.

As per a report in E times, when IMPPA asked Sony for their comments, they refused to do so saying that this particular company of Sony was not a member of IMPPA.  They informed that the company only deals with producer members for matters of films, web series as well as serials.

Following this, IMPPA has requested Sony to ensure that no injustice is done with the producers and asked them to fulfil the promised services of the artists which they had committed on behalf of the artists.

Notably, Arunita and Pawandeep had sung two songs 'Manzoor Dil' and 'Fursat' for Octopus Entertainment. Though Arunita starred in 'Manzoor Dil', she opted out from acting in Fursat while Pawandeep starred in both the songs.
