OTT Releases in January 2022: From Sequels To Original Series, Here's Detail

Some of the most-awaited sequels to the web series that became a big hit in 2020 and 2021 are expected to hit the OTT platforms next year. While dates of some of the series have been announced, dates of some other series are yet to be locked. Here is the web series that is slated to release in January 2022.

Robot (7th January 2022) on Ullu

The Indian web series as the name indicates is a story revolving around a Robot and the unique skills displayed by him. It is more for the audience who love the Sci-Fi Genre and will have actress Nisha playing the lead.

Kadiyaan (26th January 2022) on Ullu

Kadiyaan with Arshiya in the lead is about a fictional plot revolving around a few individuals and their lives. The series is essentially a crime thriller in which the life of the lead characters will be heavily disturbed as multiple crimes will keep on happening one after the other. Their struggle to lead normal life amid all this chaos and the way all the links of the crimes ultimately reveal the face behind is what the story of Kadiyaan is all about. Rahul Roy and Shilpa Shinde play the lead in this series with the Bigg Boss winner playing a CBI officer.

Scam 2003: The Curious Case of Abdul Karim Telgi on SonyLiv

Scam 1992 was a big success with Prateik Gandhi becoming an overnight star after the release of this series. Now, the director of this hit series-Hansal Mehta is once again coming to OTT with a new series on yet another big scam that rocked the nation which is the Scam 2003: The Curious Case of Abdul Karim Telgi. He was the man behind the scam of fake stamp paper printing.

The web series will reveal the life of this man from Khanapur, Karnataka and how he managed to pull off a scam of around 20,000 crores. While its release date is not yet announced, this series is expected to hit the OTT platform in January 2022.

Apart from January 2022, there are a few series that are the most awaited ones and are expected to release any time next year. These include Heeramandi by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Mirzapur Season 3, Asur 2, Code M 2, Naxalbari 2, Rudra: The Edge of Darkness starring Ajay Devgn.
