OMG- Oh My God! The 2012 movie starring Akshay Kumar as Lord Krishna, Paresh Rawal and Mithun Chakraborty in prime roles was a satirical comedy-drama film that centred on a major social issue. The flick helmed by Umesh Shukla focused on rejecting self-proclaimed god-man and even idol worship. The movie was loved and appreciated across generations and also received good critical reviews.
After over a decade, the makers are getting ready to enthrall all with a sequel to OMG- Oh My God. The movie titled OMG-2 stars Akshay Kumar in the lead. However, this time around, Pankaj Tripathi has replaced Paresh Rawal. The movie will be directed by Amit Rai.
Action king Akshay Kumar shared posters of OMG 2 on his social media handle and captioned the post: "Karta kare na kar sake Shiv kare so hoye. Need your blessings and wishes for #OMG2, our honest and humble attempt to reflect on an important social issue. May the eternal energy of Adiyogi bless us through this journey. Har Har Mahadev. @TripathiiPankaj @yamigautam @AmitBrai (sic)."
While in one poster, Aki could be seen sporting a divine look like Lord Shiva with long hair and blue skin, in another poster, a celestial hand could be seen holding another normal hand.
The Khiladi star also shared a video with Pankaj Tripathi from the shooting sets in which he is seen with his matted hair (jatta) and walking with his co-artist.
As per updates, Akshay will be portraying the character of Lord Shiva while Pankaj will be seen in a prime character. Meanwhile, Yami Gautam will also be seen in a major character, however, there are no updates available regarding her character.
After portraying the character of mischievous, lovable and powerful Krishna, as expected, Aki won't be leaving any stone unturned to nail his character as Lord Shiva.
In a major development, some other reports have confirmed that Arun Govil, who sought to fame as Lord Rama in the small screen, will be sharing screen space with Akshay.
Arun went on to become a household figure in the 80s by portraying the character of Lord Rama in the Sagar Productions' Ramayan, which was an epic television series based on ancient Indian Sanskrit epic Ramayana. The iconic TV serial was written and directed by Ramanand Sagar.
During those times, people used to pray Lord Rama through the television in remote areas. People who came across Arun idolized him and even today, cine industry still holds the actor in high esteem.
With the announcement of Arun reprising the role of Lord Rama in OMG2, the excitement level of many has reached the zenith. However, there are no updates regarding his role play in the movie. It seems, Arun as Lord Rama will be either sharing a cameo role or will join hands with Shiva (Akshay) to fight back the "important social issue." Well, all have to wait for the same.
