Noted Odia tele actress Rajeswari Ray Mohapatra passed away while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar late last night. Rajeswari was battling with lungs and brain cancer.

According to source, Rajeswari’s health condition worsened on Wednesday night and she was immediately rushed to a private hospital. However, she died during emergency treatment.

In 2019, Rajeswari had tweeted that she was diagnosed with cancer and said she would recover from it.

Rajeswari, a well-known face in the tele serial industry in Odisha, had earned love and appreciation from all with her laudable acting. She had weaved magic with her impressive stagecraft in many loved serials like Uansi Kanya.

Rajeswari started her journey in the Odia tele industry as an anchor and later went on to acting in several serials. 

Condoling the sad demise of Rajeswari, actor Somesh said, “I am shocked to hear the untimely demise her. She was like a sister to me. She has not lost the battle against cancer. Despite all odds, she never failed to share joy and inspire others. As a person, she had a very positive mindset.”

“Even after coming from a middle-class family, she proved herself through her talent. Her patience during the battle against cancer is highly commendable. We are broken after her untimely demise,” said Ashok Kumar Bhuiyan, a relative of the actress.
