Another actor from the hit sitcom ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ has accused producer Asit Modi of disrespectful behaviour and harassment. Actress Priya Ahuja, who plays Rita reporter on the show, has come out in support of the actors who have accused Asit Modi of harassment and mistreatment.

She also opened up on how she was thrown out as a ‘makkhi’ and said the other actors ‘were not wrong’.

Speaking to ETimes, Priya Ahuja said, “Yes, artists have to go through mental harassment when working on TMKOC. Kaafi hota hai… mentally I’ve also gone through this. Asit Modi bhai, Sohil Ramani or Jatin Bajaj, they have never misbehaved with me. But as far as work is concerned I’ve been subjected to unfair treatment.”

“They reduced by track after my marriage. I messaged Asit bhai so many times but there has been no response. He replied why do you need to work when your husband Malav is working,” she further added.

“I worked with them for 14 years but they never gave me the basic respect. So, now the people who are speaking up, they are not wrong I feel. Mujhe makkhi ki tarah Nikal ke phek diya,” she further stated.

Worth mentioning, actors Monika Bhadoriya and Jennifer Mistry Beniwal have accused the producers of harassment and mistreatment. Beniwal has even filed a complaint of sexual harassment against Asit Modi.

Beniwal who plays Mrs Sodhi recently claimed that she was sexually harassed and fired from the show. Monika has also alleged that she was mentally tortured and almost driven to suicide while working on the show.

However, the makers of the show have denied all the allegations and have said that they would take legal action in this regard.
