She admitted feeling unsure if he was interested in her as a person or simply because of her identity as an actor. Back then, she was also not as popular, which added to her skepticism.

Vidya also opened up about a difficult chapter in her life, admitting she had been cheated on in a past relationship. While it left her hurt, she now sees it as an important lesson that taught her to recognize what was genuine and what wasn’t. Without criticizing her past partners, she shared that after that heartbreak, she decided to focus on enjoying life rather than seeking anything too serious- until Siddharth came along.

Fate, Karan Johar and a Perfect Match

Interestingly, fate had a big role to play in their story. Vidya recalled in an interview with Humans of Bombay that Karan Johar was the one who brought them together. She felt out of place at one of his parties since she didn’t know many people, but the mood changed when Siddharth walked in. A casual conversation soon turned into sparks flying. Later, she learned that Karan had invited her with the intention of introducing her to Siddharth. Clearly, destiny worked its magic.
