Not Kiara Advani, gorgeous Alia Bhatt was the first choice for Dimple in Shershaah

Reel-life Captain Vikram Batra (Sidharth Malhotra) and his ladylove Dimple (Kiara Advani) are a happy married couple now, all thanks to Karan Johar’s blockbuster movie Shershaah.

With their crackling chemistry in the movie, the duo managed to win everyone’s hearts. However, little did anyone know that the on-screen couple would romance in real life too, and tie the knot someday.

Well, much to the surprise of the fans, the two lovebirds confessed their love for each other and finally tied the knot at Suryagarh Palace in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

And all the credit goes to filmmaker-producer Karan Johar for pairing them together in the movie. According to popular belief, the lovey-dovey couple first met on the sets of Shershaah and instantly became friends.

Soon their friendship blossomed into love and there was no turning back. However, things would not have been the same if Kiara was not the first choice of the makers for the role of Dimple.

Yes, you read that right! The role of Dimple, Captain Vikram Batra’s ladylove was first offered to the gorgeous Alia Bhatt. The Student of the Year actress was supposed to romance Sidharth for the third time after SOTY and Kapoor & Sons.

However, as luck would have it, she reportedly refused the offer due to her packed schedule. Later, the offer went to Kiara Advani, and like they say, everything happens for a reason.

Helmed by Vishnu Vardhan, the movie went on to become a huge blockbuster and received a lot of appreciation and immense love from both the critics and the audience alike.
