Notably, before achieving stardom, Amitabh managed to get a role in 'Reshma Aur Shera' starring Sunil Dutt and Waheeda Rehman in the lead. While shooting a crucial scene, Waheeda had to sit in the scorching desert sun. However, the heat was intense and unbearable. Even sandals couldn't protect Waheeda from the burning sand. As soon as the scene wrapped, Amitabh rushed to her side while carrying her slippers in his hand to shield her feet from the scorching heat.

Waheeda slapped Amitabh!

Amitabh carried Waheeda's slippers in his hand, but, the actress slapped him firmly. Well, the slap was not for carrying her slippers. As per the film's sequence, the director instructed Waheeda to slap him and he required the shot in one take. For this, she needed to slap her co-star in real. At first, Waheeda warned Amitabh and when the time arrived, she slapped him firmly.

Amitabh's 'love' for Waheeda

Years later, during a candid interview, Amitabh reportedly confessed that he had harboured feelings for Waheeda during the shooting of Reshma Aur Shera. Big B also revealed that he held her in high regard, making the moment even more significant.

Though not in real life, Waheeda paired opposite Amitabh in multiple movies as his love interest/wife. The duo worked opposite each other in Adalat, Kabhie Kabhie and Mahan. However, in Trishul, Coolie, Namak Halaal, she played his mother and was also supposed to play the role again in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. However, she withdrew after her husband's death.
