Nitesh Kumar Sahoo

The hype around Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has remained quite high for a long time now. While the makers are yet to make an official announcement, movie lovers seem to be quite excited with the strong buzz linked to the star cast. As per the last reports, Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi will essay the roles of Lord Rama and Sita respectively, while Sunny Deol will be seen as Lord Hanuman and Rocking Star Yash as Demon King Ravana.

Moreover, there is a strong buzz that the makers are in advanced talks with Vijay Sethupathi and Lara Dutta for playing prominent roles in the cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic.

Earlier, reports claimed that Ranbir will kick off shooting from March and an additional schedule has been planned for April and May this year. Further, the reports claimed that Yash might join the team in July.

Now, it seems, the makers are all set to go on the floors.

According to the latest report by Times of India, Ranbir will be going on the floors soon and the shooting of the movie will extensively take place in Mumbai. A source stated that the Brahmastra actor will be shooting for 60 days in Mumbai followed by a schedule in London. Further, the Lanka portion of the movie will be shot in London for approximately 60 days. KGF fame Yash will join the team in London on this schedule.

While a report in Pinkvilla claimed that Sunny Deol has been roped in to play the role of Lord Hanuman, he will join the team in May this year. However, in the first part of the planned trilogy, Sunny will have a guest appearance.

A close source to the development was quoted as saying, “While Ramayana: Part One features Sunny Deol in a guest appearance, the second and third part of the epic trilogy will have his complete presence. The makers are confident that after Dara Singh, it is Sunny Deol who would be synonymous with Lord Hanuman in modern times.”

Undeniably, Nitesh Tiwari’s dream project Ramayana is one of the highly anticipated movies. Movie lovers have pinned high hopes on the makers after getting disheartened with Prabhas-starrer Adipurush. It is speculated that the mythological drama with an ensemble star cast and a talented director would be a cinematic spectacle.
