Nepotism! Aaman Devgan replaced THIS Salman Khan co-star in Azaad?

Ajay Devgn's nephew Aaman Devgan debuted with period drama Azaad, alongside Raveena Tandon's daughter Rasha Thadani. The movie received mixed-to-negative reviews due to its weak writing and disjointed subplots. However, debutants Aaman and Rasha were praised for their impressive performances. However, a recent report has once again sparked the debate about nepotism. According to reports, Aaman Devgan was not the first choice for the role and he replaced an outsider, who shared screen space with Salman Khan.

During a recent interview, Siddharth Nigam's mother revealed that her son was the first pick for the lead in Azaad. However, Siddharth was replaced by Aaman in the Abhishek Kapoor directorial. Siddharth's mother also admitted that she felt bad when her son was dropped even after the script was narrated.

Talking to Instant Bollywood, Siddharth's mother recalled accompanying him to the meeting, where the script was narrated.

She said, "We waited for a year. I was happy because the film was good, and Siddharth would have had a strong launch in Bollywood. I really loved the script."

However, after two years, Siddharth showed the poster of Azaad to his mother and informed her that the film had been released. Then they saw the film starring Aaman and Rasha.

"For the first time in my life, I felt bad. When things like this happen, as a mother it hurts. Then I realised both of them were star kids, and that made all the difference," she added.

However, Siddharth shared that while it was 'disappointing', it brought a sense of clarity. Though Siddharth remained hopeful for nearly a year, seeing the teaser was a moment of acceptance for him.

Meanwhile, the latest report has once again sparked debate around nepotism in the industry, with outsiders getting replaced by star kids.

Notably, Siddharth Nigam was recently seen in the drama series Hai Junoon, alongside Neil Nitin Mukesh, Boman Irani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sumedh Mudgalkar, and Yukti Thareja. Siddharth debuted as a child actor in Dhoom 3 as Sahir and Samar followed by his stint in TV with Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat, Aladdin- Naam Toh Suna Hoga. Later, he starred in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan alongside Salman Khan, as one of his younger brothers.
