Neha Kakkar celebrates her birthday today. Here are some interesting facts about the popular Indian singer.
Neha Kakkar is a very famous Indian singer. While she had a legacy of singing at her home as her parents sang in Jagrata, their monetary condition was not good and she stayed with her other two siblings and parents in one small room.
Neha used to sing along with her sister and brother in Jagrata from a very young age. On her birthday today, here’s an overview of her journey in the music world.
As she grew older, her aspirations soared and she participated in the Indian Idol-the biggest music reality show in India. However, after a few rounds, she was voted out.
But that did not stop her from trying her luck in Bollywood and after singing for the chorus and struggling in a few studios she finally got a break with “Second hand Jawani” from Cocktail which featured Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty.
The chartbuster song paved the way for many such superhit songs like “London Thumakda” and “Tukur Tukur.” However, her voice was noticed even before that when her album with Meet Bros titled Neha-The Rockstar was released.
Neha Kakkar never went to any singing school for learning music. She calls herself a self-taught singer and once said that she knows that having some music training could have been a brownie point for her but that has not deterred her from continuing with her journey.
When Neha and her sister started singing for chowki and jagrata they used to earn Rs 50 and now Neha earns a paycheck of lakhs for one song. She has performed across the world and has 40 plus million followers on Instagram which makes her one of the most loved and followed Indian singers on social media. To date, she has performed in more than 1000 plus shows in India and around the world.
The “aaj blue hai pani pani” singer also tried her luck in Bollywood as a singer and featured in the movie Isi Life Mein in 2010, but somehow acting did not work for her.
While her struggle in the music world is real and she has received all the praise from her fans and well-wishers for her success, many big singers and even composers have slammed her for predominantly singing remixes of earlier hit numbers. Be it “Saki Saki” or “Dilbar Dilbar” many fans and even singers have been upset with Neha singing such remixes.
