Actress Nayanthara, dubbed the lady superstar of South, made it big with her Bollywood debut. While it's a 'dream come true' for many to work with superstar Shah Rukh Khan, ace filmmaker Atlee made it happen in Jawan. Earlier, reports were abuzz that Nayanthara was 'upset' for being sidelined by Deepika Padukone's character in the 2023 blockbuster. However, she managed to win the Most Versatile Actress Award at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2024, which raised many eyebrows.

But, did you know Nayan 'regrets' being a part of 2005's Tamil blockbuster Ghajini, starring Suriya and Asin?

Notably, earlier during an interview, the actress confessed that it was her worst decision to take up the role in Ghajini.

Back in 2019, during the interview with International Business Times, Nayan said, "Though I have to confess on hindsight that the worst decision that I ever took was to do that role in Ghajini. My role did not shape out the way it was narrated to me and I was photographed badly. But I have no complaints as I consider all that as a learning experience.”

Well, Suriya's Gajini, also starring Asin and Pradeep Rawat in lead roles, emerged as the third highest-grossing Tamil flick of the year. The Telugu-dubbed version also was commercially successful and left behind many Telugu films, in terms of collection. Later, in 2008 it was remade in Hindi with Aamir Khan in the lead. While Asin and Pradeep Rawat reprised their respective roles, Nayanthara was replaced by Jiah Khan. The AR Murugadoss directorial has a different fanbase. While Nayan was dissatisfied and disappointed with her character, Jiah Khan drew everyone's attention in the same role.
