Lady superstar Nayanthara and her husband Vignesh Shivan recently made a big announcement of beginning a new journey of parenthood with their twins. Soon, the news stormed the internet elating fans and well-wishers. However, it seems the celebrity couple might get into trouble soon.

The announcement of the twins certainly was surprising for all as the duo had recently tied the knot in June. The duo opted for surrogacy and was blessed with twin boys on October 10.

Soon after the announcement, the Tamil Nadu government said that it will examine whether the couple violated the surrogacy laws in India or not, reported the News Minute.

Notably, Commercial Surrogacy has been banned in India as per The Surrogacy (Regulation) Act, 2021. The law was passed in December 2021 and came into effect on January 25, 2022.

Under this act, only altruistic surrogacy is permitted in India, which means the surrogate mother will not get any remuneration from the parents or any kind of monetary incentive apart from medical expenses. Moreover, the surrogate mother must be genetically related to the couple.

However, there are no reports of the surrogate mother who gave birth to the twin boys of Nayan and Vignesh.

If Nayan and Vignesh have followed the new surrogacy law, there won't be any trouble for them. Else, for violation of the law, they might land in trouble.
