Nawazuddin and his daughter
Bollywood star Nawazuddin Siddiqui, known for his powerful performances in Gangs of Wasseypur, Raees and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, recently opened up about his special bond with his daughter, Shora. In a chat with The New Indian podcast, Nawaz confessed that he is more attached to his daughter than anyone else.
“I yell at her sometimes, but she is very dear to me,” he shared.
What Nawaz admires most about Shora is her outspoken nature. “She is a moophat (straightforward). She criticises me and isn’t in awe of me. In just two minutes, she can call me out,” Nawaz admitted with a smile. He added that her honesty keeps him humble: “Mujhe zameen par laa deti hai (She keeps me grounded).” According to him, Shora often points out his habits and isn’t impressed by his star status, in fact, she hasn’t even watched most of his films.
In July, Nawaz shared a video of Shora performing a short English scene with another actor. The 15-year-old’s confidence and dialogue delivery won praise online. Nawaz revealed that Shora also dreams of becoming an actor and is currently training to enter films.
On the work front, Nawaz was last seen in Costao on ZEE5. He will next feature in Thama, a horror-comedy from Maddock Films, co-starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna and Paresh Rawal. Directed by Aaditya Sarpotdar, the film is set across two timelines, with Nawaz playing the antagonist. Thama is slated for a Diwali 2025 release.
