Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna's Pushpa 2: The Rule is scripting new box office records with its glorious run in theatres across the country. Pushpa 2 seems to be unaffected despite new releases. While there are not many new releases, Varun Dhawan's Baby John has opened with mixed reviews. But, in an unexpected incident, moviegoers were forced to watch Baby John in a theatre though they had booked tickets for Pushpa 2: The Rule.

This surprising incident occurred at Raj Mandir Cinema in Jaipur which sparked outrage among Allu Arjun's fans. The video of the same has surfaced on social media showing disgruntled viewers alleging that 'they were forced to watch Baby John on tickets originally booked for Pushpa 2. The unexpected cancellation of Pushpa 2 in the theatre during the Christmas holiday left moviegoers disappointed and they have been demanding an answer.

Reportedly, when the viewers arrived at the theatre for the 10:45 am show of Pushpa 2: The Rule, they found out that the screening was cancelled. Instead, Baby John was shown to the moviegoers without any prior notification or refunds.

Fans revealed that they had booked the tickets for Pushpa 2 in advance, yet no messages or alerts regarding the cancellation were intimated by the theatre management or the online ticket booking platform BookMyShow.

In response to the backlash, the theatre staff claimed that the decision to change the movie was made by the producers and was beyond their control. However, this explanation failed to pacify the disgruntled moviegoers. While a few of them reluctantly stayed back to watch Baby John, others walked away from the theatre, demanding a refund.

While the Sukumar directorial continues its box office rampage, Pushpa 2 witnessed a 36.21 per cent rise in its daily BO collections on Christmas. With this, the total box office collection of Pushpa 2 is reported to be Rs 1,109.85 crore, of which, the Hindi version only has minted Rs 716.65 crore.

On the other hand, according to industry tracker Sacnilk, the opening day collection of Baby John is estimated to be Rs 12.5 crore. While Baby John has become the biggest opener in 5 years for Varun Dhawan, it failed to beat Vijay's Theri. Notably, reacting to the release of Baby John, a Hindi remake of Vijay's Theri, the GOAT actor extended his best wishes to the entire team, including director Kalees, producer Atlee, actors Varun, Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi and the rest cast.
