Misha Agrawal’s suicide showcases the mental struggles of influencers
Social media influencers have to face tough competition to stay relevant among their followers. With hundreds and thousands of influencers posting and creating content and products on their official accounts, it becomes stressful to maintain the following and keep on coming up with something new to attract new followers.
One wrong step or promotion can hugely affect the number of followers. And it can also diminish the impact of the influencer which can be a big blow to his online relevance.
A few leading marketing platforms have shared that 80% of content creators suffer from burnout with around 66% saying that it has impacted their mental health and around 49% acknowledging that they do have to rely on alternative income sources to reduce their anxiety and stress levels. Instagram is the primary platform that drives burnout among content creators.
