  • When Raghavan started writing the script for Pathaan, he borrowed a few characters from War.
  • He infused characters from both Pathaan and War into Tiger 3 thereby creating a Spy Universe.

Tiger 3 has opened to a massive response and is the third movie that has crossed 100 crore in just 2 days after Pathaan and Jawan. While Jawan is an Atlee film, both Pathaan and Tiger 3 are a part of the Spy Universe bankrolled by Aditya Chopra’s YRF. So naturally many people believe that the Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi director is behind this cracking idea of creating a Spy Universe for YRF.

But the real brain who came up with a story for Tiger 3 and developed the concept of a Spy Universe that will include Salman Khan’s Tiger, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, and Hrithik Roshan’s Kabir is Sridhar Raghavan.

Amazing contribution of Sridhar Raghavan to YRF’s Spy Universe

Technically, the Spy Universe started with Tiger Zinda Hai in 2011. At that time Tiger was already a big franchise as the first movie Ek Tha Tiger led by Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif was a big hit. The sequel was an even bigger blockbuster and hence Tiger 3 was already in the pipeline when Aditya Chopra thought of coming up with Pathaan and developing Tiger and Pathaan as a part of Spy Universe.

The plots for Tiger 3 and Pathaan were written by Aditya Chopra and later on, complete bound scripts for both these movies were developed by Sridhar Raghavan. He had already penned the script for War released in 2019. So he was one person who was well aware of all the characters that played key parts in War.

That is why when Raghavan started writing the script for Pathaan, he borrowed a few characters from War and added them creatively into the script of Pathaan. Ditto with Tiger 3 as he infused characters from both Pathaan and War into the threequel thereby creating a Spy Universe bringing three iconic spies of YRF together.

Sridhar Raghavan has been in the film industry for more than two decades now and has written scripts for movies like Bluffmaster, Chandni Chowk to China, and Apaharan. He was the creative producer for the famous detective serial CID for 91 episodes. In 2019 he started working for OTT and created The Night Manager and Criminal Justice.
