With sheer grit, determination, and consistent hard work, Ankita managed to reverse her condition so that she can emerge as the topmost supermodel in the subcontinent. When she won the Miss India crown, she was just 17 years of age, lean and naturally slim. But after winning the title, the actress had to go through a lot of trouble to maintain her figure as she was battling with health challenges.

It was a big challenge for her when she suffered from severe infection in her lower limbs and was restricted to a wheelchair for almost six months. At that time, the doctors had said that she won’t be able to wear heels ever. Moreover, they were also planning to cut a part of her leg. Somehow the treatment yielded results and within six months she was able to walk on the ramp and represent Rina Dhaka, the leading fashion designer at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week.

During these six months of recovery, Ankita Shorey faced huge challenges. The medications and steroids had started showing side effects. Weight gain, bloating made her look 30 years of age at 21. But the problems did not end here. She was diagnosed with irreversible autoimmune disease lupus. That is when the supermodel decided to take charge of her life. She brought major changes in diet after Yoga and weight training failed to help her cut down weight.

Today’s slim and beautiful Ankita Shorey is because she started eating a gluten and dairy-free diet and has completely stopped eating processed sugar.
