Mahabharat movie: Aamir Khan 'scared' to make his dream project for THIS reason
Fans are well aware of Bollywood's Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan's dream project of making Mahabharat, a cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic. While rumours have surfaced about this project in intervals, Aamir recently opened up about the same. He admitted being 'scared' of making Mahabharat as he might get the critical project wrong. He also said that he isn't sure if he will get to work on it but hopes that he can make the project come to life one day.
Recently, during an interview with BBC News, the Laal Singh Chaddha actor discussed his Oscar campaign for Laapataa Ladies. Moreover, he also shared about his most ambitious project.
During his earlier media interactions, Aamir has often expressed his desire to work on his dream project, a cinematic adaptation of the Indian Epic Mahabharat. However, now, he admitted that the idea is both 'exciting' and 'scary'.
The PK actor said, "Well, that's my dream project, and it's a very scary project. So huge, and I am scared of getting it wrong. It's a huge responsibility because, as Indians, it's something so close to us; it's in our blood. So I want to get it right."
Further, he also acknowledged the importance of Mahabharat for Indians and said, "I want to make every Indian proud. I also want to show the world what India has. I don't know if it will happen, but it's something I want to work towards. So let's see."
For the unversed, in 2018, writer Anjum Rajabali revealed about the project and said that Aamir has been pondering over the idea of making a big-budget adaptation of Mahabharat. Even reports surfaced that Aamir turned down to work on Rakesh Sharma's biopic for the project.
Well, after Adipurush, moviegoers have pinned high hopes on Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol and Yash in major characters. Reception of movies based on mythology and Indian epic (except Adipurush) has been good. Thus, Mahabharat could be a clickbait with a huge scale, star cast, VFX and performance.
