Madhuri Dixit's lookalike turned down offer to work opposite Shah Rukh Khan for Kamal Haasan!

Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit is considered one of the iconic and beautiful actresses. Even at the age of 57, the actress continues to mesmerise fans with her timeless charm, elegance and intoxicating smile. However, did you know that Madhuri Dixit had a lookalike who turned down the offer to work opposite Shah Rukh Khan for Kamal Haasan?

Actress Farheen Khan became an overnight sensation with her debut in 1992's Jaan Tere Naam. However, she became the talk of the town and people compared her facial features and expressions with Madhuri Dixit. Soon people dubbed her as a lookalike of Madhuri.

However, despite the success of Jaan Tere Naam and the immense popularity of the song 'First Time Dekha Tumhe...' she failed to achieve the heights that Madhuri enjoyed.

Well, apart from Jaan Tere Naam, Farheen worked in several other films including Sainik as Akshay Kumar's sister. During the early 90s, she actively worked in Bollywood. Later, she forayed into the South Film Industry and achieved success. 

Interestingly, Farheen was offered to work opposite Shah Rukh in a movie, that emerged as a blockbuster. Farheen's role was played by a debutant and the rest is history. The movie is 1993's Baazigar in which SRK played the role of an anti-hero. Baazigar is considered a landmark film in SRK's career and marked a significant turning point. Farheen was offered to play Seema's role which later landed with Shilpa Shetty. However, Farheen turned down the offer and chose to work in Kalaignan opposite Kamal Haasan. Kalaignan was a major film in Tamil Film Industry at the time.

Later, Farheen quit acting at the peak time of her career to marry cricketer Manoj Prabhakar. Reportedly, the actress wanted to have a family and devote her entire time to it as she came from a broken family. After tying the knot, the couple moved to Delhi and they have two sons.
