The upcoming film, Thama, will serve as the fifth instalment in the interconnected franchise that began with Stree (2018) and later expanded with Bhediya (2022), Munjya (2024), and Stree 2 (2024).
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Thama blends vampire mythology with romance, horror, and quirky humour, hallmarks of Maddock’s signature style. The film is slated for a Diwali 2025 theatrical release.
The studio has teased that this new antagonist will "redefine fear”, eclipsing the menace of previous franchise villains such as Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya. Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays the formidable villain opposite Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna.
Since 2018, Maddock Films has reimagined Indian folklore with a genre-blending approach, combining horror, comedy, and mythological intrigue. Thama promises to raise the stakes, deepen the lore, and introduce a villain that could define the next phase of the franchise.
