  • Vicky Kaushal will be sharing the screen with Alia and Ranbir for Love and War.
  • Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for focusing more on one particular character in his movies.
  • Will he sideline Vicky Kaushal the way he gave less importance to Shahid in Padmaavat?

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt winning the Best Actor Male and Female Awards respectively at the Filmfare 2024 has sparked a huge debate on social media. Most of the film-loving buffs have said that it was a PR masterstroke that helped the Brahmastra actors win the awards.

Despite Shah Rukh Khan getting nominated for two movies and extraordinary acting by Rani Mukerji and Taapsee Pannu, these actors failed to get Filmfare which has left the Bollywood fans disappointed. Another actor who many believed should have won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor male was Vicky Kaushal for Sam Bahadur. He did win the supporting actor award for Dunki, but Sam Bahadur was one of the best performances of last year.

What’s more, now Vicky Kaushal has been signed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his upcoming movie Love and War. It also stars Ranbir and Alia in the lead. Now most of the fans of the Massan actor are worried that there is a strong possibility that the other two lead actors will take away the limelight from Vicky.

And there certainly is a reason to think in this way. Earlier during Padmaavat when SLB brought the star cast of Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor, and Deepika Padukone together, it became evident that the director gave more footage and importance to the role of Ranveer who played Khilji. Deeps had a meatier role as she was the only lead actress. However, the role of Shahid Kapoor who portrayed Maharana Rawal was not well written. The actor also looked uncomfortable both in his scenes with Deepika Padukone who played his wife as well as during his confrontations with Ranveer Singh in the movie.

Many believed that Sanjay Leela Bhansali did not give equal importance to Shahid Kapoor’s role. Now the same thing might happen with Vicky Kaushal. Although the Uri actor had played a side role alongside Ranbir Kapoor in Sanju, in the last few years Vicky Kaushal has shown incredible growth as an actor, and his last solo movie Zara Hatke Zara Bachke was a decent hit.

Vicky Kaushal fans are expecting SLB to give him an author-backed role at par with what Alia and Ranbir will be getting. Will the Devdas director live up to the expectations?
