Late Sidhu Moosewala
Three years have passed, but the pain of losing Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu better known as Sidhu Moosewala still lingers in the hearts of millions. On May 29, 2022, the world lost not just a singer, but a cultural phenomenon who gave voice to the aspirations, struggles, and raw emotions of a generation.
Moosewala was gunned down in Punjab’s Mansa district while traveling with his cousin and friend. His sudden death sent shockwaves across the globe, with fans and public figures mourning the loss of an artist whose music was as fearless as it was poetic.
On Thursday, his village of Moosa became a pilgrimage site for fans and admirers who gathered in large numbers to honor his memory. A ‘Sehaj Path’ (prayer service) was organized, and a blood donation camp saw emotional participation from children, youth, and elderly alike.
His parents, Balkaur Singh and Charan Kaur, shared heartfelt posts on social media, remembering their son. They were joined by his younger brother—born through IVF in March 2024 bringing bittersweet hope to a grieving family.
