Reality TV stars Kim and Khloe Kardashian recently attended the grand wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Mumbai, making a notable appearance in gorgeous ethnic outfits designed by renowned Indian fashion designer Manish Malhotra. However, their visit sparked controversy due to cultural missteps that upset many netizens.

Kim Kardashian faced criticism for her actions during the wedding. She shared pictures flaunting the diamonds and pearls she wore at the event, dressed in a stunning ivory and gold lehenga by Manish Malhotra, accessorized with a heavy diamond necklace, earrings, a mang teekha, and a long, diamond-studded nose ring. However, one picture featuring Kim posing with a Ganesha idol sparked outrage, as many felt she used the idol as a prop.

The backlash led Kim to delete the controversial picture from her Instagram wall, but not before it circulated on Reddit, where fans expressed their disappointment. One comment read, "Did she remove it from her post? I swiped through and it isn’t there anymore, but I’m not surprised that she did something like this lol."

Khloe Kardashian stirred controversy when crediting Malhotra on social media for her outfit by referring to him as a "local designer." Sharing her experience on Snapchat, she said, "You guys, how beautiful are my clothes that I've been wearing are all so beautiful designed by a local designer. I will get you his name, but everything...I mean everything is so spectacular." She further expressed admiration for a "pop-pink number," saying, "I love this pop-pink number. Just the vibrancy, the detail, the intricacy of it. It's to die for."

In another Story, Khloe acknowledged Malhotra as a "world-renowned designer," stating, "Our stylist worked with world-renowned designer Manish Malhotra to create our incredible dresses for our trip!" Despite this clarification, her initial comment sparked backlash. 

One user commented, "Khloe Kardashian is saying her lehenga for the Ambani wedding is made by a 'local designer' like ma'am, and it is taking me out." Another wrote, "Khloe calling Manish 'a local designer' shows how little idea they have of India and how least bothered they are." A third added, "The same reason why these people don't deserve even an ounce of hype."
