Kiara Advani and Varun Dhawan's upcoming film JugJugg Jeeyo(J3) has been creating a lot of buzz. Produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, the film is all set to hit the big screen on June 24, 2022. However, even before the release, the film has landed in hot water over plagiarism accusations.

According to reports, a copyright infringement case has been filed against the makers of the film in Ranchi by a scriptwriter who claimed that J3 is copied from his script titled Bunny Rani.

He has reportedly claimed that no credit has been given to him by the makers and has demanded Rs 1.5 crore as compensation from the makers.

Meanwhile, the commercial court in Ranchi has ordered the makers to screen the film before the court with four days remaining to release the film.

The complainant Vishal A Singh claimed that he mailed the extracts of his script titled Bunny Rani to Dharma Productions. While he did receive a reply from the production house, Singh claimed that Karan Johar’s productions copied his script titled Bunny Rani to make JugJugg Jeeyo .

In a series of tweets, Vishal said, “Had registered a story.. #BunnyRani with @swaindiaorg in January 2020. I had officially mailed @DharmaMovies in February 2020 for an opportunity to co-produce with them. I even got a reply from them. And they have taken my story.. and made #JugJuggJeeyo. Not fair @karanjohar (sic).”

He also shared screenshots of his mail to Dharma Productions. "Screenshot of my mail to @DharmaMovies dated 17.02.2020. An official complaint will follow (sic)", his next tweet read.

In another tweet, Singh wrote about malpractice in the Hindi cinema industry. “Am aware that what happened with me is happening in the #HindiCinema industry all the time. That doesn't mean.. I should shut up? I have chosen to raise the flag coz I want this malpractice to stop. This can't go on forever. BunnyRani #JugJuggJeeyo (sic)," wrote Singh.

Concluding his Twitter thread, Singh asked Karan Johar to start the 'truth and reconciliation process'. “If what am saying is wrong.. @DharmaMovies should act strongly against me? And if am right.. #Dharma and @karanjohar should start the #TruthAndReconciliation process. If #HindiCinema has to prosper.. serious issues can never operate in grey zone? What do you think (sic),” he wrote.

However, there has been no official statement from Karan Johar or his production house on the matter yet.
