  • In a career spanning over 10 decades, he worked in more than 100 movies.
  • He appeared last in the hit film KGF 2.

Mohan Juneja, the Kannada actor who recently appeared in the blockbuster KGF Chapter 2, passed away on Saturday due to liver-related issues. Born in Bengaluru to a civil engineer father, Manoj during an interview had said that his father wanted him to become an engineer like him but he could not fulfill his wish as he was poor in his studies.

Rather, from a very young age, Manoj was attracted to movies and watched three movies per day. His acting journey started at his school where he joined drama and theater to understand the nuances of acting as a profession.

Being a theater person, he was well versed in all aspects of this art. And hence, apart from acting in different roles, he also assisted directors, wrote scripts and dialogues for both movies and television serials, and also worked in the department of makeup for some time.

In one of these interviews, Mohan revealed the hardships he underwent to reach the position he earned in the latter part of his career. The actor used to write for the serial or movies at the night and do acting during the day.

Mohan Juneja made his debut with the Wall Poster of Shankar Nag, which was helmed by GV Iyer. He went on to assist Iyer in many more movies like Anuragha Geethe and Bhagavad Geeta. But still, he was far away from the recognition that an actor needs. It was the television serial Vaatara of Nagathihalli Chandrashekar that made him a popular face among the audience.

The serial ran for around 1000 episodes and the role of Parandhama was liked by everyone. Mohan had a short career of just over a decade, but in this short period, he acted in more than 100 movies. Be it his role as Madhumaga in Chellata or his way of speaking dialogues in Shivaji Nagar style, Mohan Juneja had the knack of making an impression with his distinct acting style.

He appeared earlier in KGF Chapter 1 and was also seen reprising the same role in the sequel, KGF Chapter 2, which was released last month,
