The conclusion of KGF: Chapter 2 had left fans intrigued with a teaser for another instalment, KGF: Chapter 3, despite the apparent demise of Yash's character, Rocky Bhai. Reports initially indicated that the third chapter would delve into the period of 1978-1981, portraying Rocky Bhai as the most wanted gangster by the CIA.
Producer Vijay Kiragandur initially set October 2022 to start the filming for KGF-3, but Yash expressed a desire for a different project before reprising his iconic role.
Recent updates suggest that KGF: Chapter 3 remains in the pipeline, though director Prashanth Neel is uncertain about helming the project. In an interview with Pinkvilla during the promotions of Salaar: Ceasefire, the first part of Prabhas-led Salaar, Prashanth mentioned that a script is ready for KGF-3, allowing the team to announce it confidently.
However, his commitment to Salaar 2 and a film with NTR Jr may hinder his ability to direct the next KGF installment. Prashanth has previous experience with this dynamic, as he has written Sriimurali's Bagheera, directed by Dr Suri, while staying informed about its progress.
Salaar: Ceasefire is scheduled for a December 22 release, setting up a clash with Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki. Although Prashanth denies Salaar being an updated Ugramm, his debut film, audiences speculate from the trailer that Salaar is a refined version, labelled by some as Ugramm 2.0. As the fate of KGF: Chapter 3 hangs in the balance, fans eagerly await further developments in the KGF saga.
