  • PVR cinemas and other multiplexes may not screen KGF 2 because of an unsatisfactory profit-sharing issue.
  • Thalapathy Vijay's Beast leaked online within hours from its theatrical release.

Thalapathy Vijay’s much-awaited Beast has been released and with a gap of just one day, KGF 2 will hit the theaters. Speculations have been going adrift since the release dates were announced whether KGF 2 will outperform Beast and vice-versa. However, the current updates indicate that certain other factors may attract or affect the box-office collection of these movies.

According to reports, KGF 2 has reported massive advance booking- a record comparable only to Baahubali 2. But even then it might suffer some setbacks because the multiplexes and the PVR owners have decided not to screen KGF 2. These theater owners are reportedly not happy with the profit deal that has been put forth by the team of KGF 2, and that is why they are not going to screen the sequel.

The distribution model for the multiplexes is far different from that offered to the theater owners with a single screen. Also, there is a vast difference in the profit-sharing model when it comes to different regional film industries. And, that is why multiplexes and PVR cinemas are planning not to screen KGF2.

This can be a big setback for Prashanth Neel, Yash, and the team. However, discussions are underway between the producers and theater owners and hopefully, the issue will be resolved before the release of KGF 2.

Coming to Beast, the Thalapathy Vijay movie’s box-office performance might be hampered because within hours of its release, the movie became available for downloading on pirated websites. Fans of Vijay became quite upset after posters stating that the movie is available on given links began to make rounds on social media platforms. Fans of the Tamil superstar urged people not to use the links available on Torrent, Movierulz, and Tamilrockers.net to watch the movie and instead go to the theaters to enjoy it.

Earlier even other big Southern releases like Radhe Shyam and Valimai got leaked online within hours from their theatrical release. If the same thing happens with KGF 2 and if the issue with multiplexes stands unresolved till tomorrow, it may upset the expected performance level of Yash’s sequel.

Meanwhile, the KGF director today took to Twitter and urged people to say 'no to piracy'. He tweeted: "The Fight against piracy starts with you! Please don't take videos & photos and avoid posting them online!"
