A Battle Against the British Empire
In Kesari Chapter 2, Akshay Kumar portrays Sir C Sankaran Nair, the fearless lawyer who waged an ‘unprecedented battle’ against the British empire in the 1920s following the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. His character takes on R Madhavan, who plays a British lawyer defending the colonial rulers. Meanwhile, Ananya Panday steps into the role of a trailblazing female lawyer challenging gender stereotypes and advocating for justice amid a predominantly male courtroom.
The trailer highlights the immense struggle faced by Indians who dared to challenge British injustices, shedding light on their resilience despite facing ridicule and oppression. The film is set against the backdrop of one of India’s darkest chapters in history and aims to bring to life the courtroom drama that played a pivotal role in exposing British atrocities.
