Katrina Kaif is riding high on the success of her recent release ‘Merry Christmas’ in which she was seen alongside Vijay Sethupati, Sanjay Kapoor, and others. Katrina was elated and expressed gratitude after the movie received positive responses from the audience, film critics, and her colleagues. Now, it seems, Kat is ready to take up more challenges in her career after receiving acclaim for her performance in the movie.

The Tiger 3 actress has earned a unique identity for her versatile performances. Be it romance, comedy, or action, Kat has never let her fans down. This emphasises the importance of being true to oneself at different stages of life.

During an interview with Pinkvilla, Kat said that as an actor, a lot of it is about self-expression. 

Kat was quoted as saying, “I wouldn’t even call it freedom; I would like to call it confidence- the confidence to make choices that you feel is true for you.”

Further, she highlighted the inevitable changes that come with personal growth and experiences and asserted that a person in his/her 20s may not be the same in 30s. 

The Dhoom 3 actress also expressed her desire to explore different facets of acting. Kat said that she would love to play a negative character. 

“Not just negative without reason, someone we know, this is the reason they become that way,” she said.

Apart from being interested in playing villains, the Welcome actress also expressed her excitement about being featured in a period drama. She emphasized that while her desires as an actor include specific roles, the ultimate decision is guided by the story and its narrative impact. 

Kat said, “When you get drawn to a story, you have to judge each story as per that film when it comes at that moment.”

Katrina made her debut in 2003 with Boom. In her career spanning over 20 years, she has worked in 44 movies. Though she had a rough start in her initial days, she struggled hard and cemented her place in the industry. She has been a part of several successful movies in different genres and has worked with almost all A-listed actors.

Her desire to play a negative character or work in a period drama could soon come true as she has proven her versatility by portraying her characters in different genres.
