Kareena Kapoor Khan to play 'maiden role' in biggest pan-India film? Is it SS Rajamouli's SSMB29, Tiwari's Ramayana or...!
Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor Khan is currently among the top Bollywood actresses. With her powerful performances and versatility, Bebo has garnered recognition and boasts a huge fandom. From romantic comedies to crime dramas, the 'Jab We Met' actress has worked in different genres and nailed her characters. She has established herself as one of the biggest female actresses in Hindi cinema. Now, the recent reports suggest that Bebo has been roped in for the biggest pan-India cinema and will play a 'maiden role' in the movie.
As per an exclusive report by Pinkvilla, Kareena has been offered some of the biggest pan-India movies in the last months. While earlier reports were abuzz that she would be playing the role of KFI Rocking Star Yash's sister in 'Toxic: The Fairytale for Grownups', things didn't work out and she walked out of the project. However, now, the actress has reportedly signed on for a film, which is touted to be the biggest and most exciting feature film of Indian cinema in the next two years.
Pinkvilla quoted a close source as saying that Bebo will be seen in a never-seen avatar in the movie.
"It's a role that she hasn't done to date," said the source.
Further, without revealing the name, the source disclosed that Bebo is collaborating with the director, who is among the most celebrated and bankable in Indian cinema.
The source further added that Bebo has given a nod to the role and is excited to embark on a new journey in the 25th year of her acting career.
According to the source, the movie will go on floors in January 2025 and will hit theatres in 2026. Further, the source revealed that shooting will be done extensively in India and abroad, and Bebo has allotted bulk dates for the film.
Talking about the magnum opus, the source said that the movie will be a big pan-India movie and the mega director will rope in big actors from all industries to play key roles.
Kareena signing the biggest pan-India film in a pivotal role is certainly exciting for fans. However, no official confirmation has been released by the actress or the makers.
Meanwhile, fans have started speculating about the 'biggest' pan-India film and its bankable director.
When it comes to the most bankable directors of Indian cinema, currently South ace director SS Rajamouli is at the top. Be it the Baahubali series or RRR, his movies have scripted golden records in terms of popularity and box office collections (worldwide). Now, Rajamouli is prepping for his next, tentatively titled SSMB29, with Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu in the lead. If the earlier rumours are anything to go by, SSMB29 will be similar to the Hollywood adventure series Indiana Jones. Moreover, it will feature a story related to Hanuman. The film is rumoured to have a budget of Rs 1000 crore. As updated by Rajamouli, the writing is completed and they were in the pre-production stage. Moreover, the casting was yet to be finalised. Well, this could be it and may not be as SSMB29 might not have many actors from different regional film industries.
While SS Rajamouli's SSMB29 is on the top of the list, the sequel to Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani in pivotal roles, can't be ignored. Kalki 2898 AD was made a whopping budget of Rs 600 crore and is the most expensive film to date. The movie even had actors from different regional film industries. After the mammoth box office success of the first part, the filmmaker must have plans to make the sequel much bigger than expected. Though Deepika plays the lead in the sci-fi movie, Bebo might have a pivotal role in the sequel.
Though Ayan Mukerji's magnum opus Brahmastra: Part One- Shiva was made at a budget of Rs 400 crore, the sequel and triquel are touted to be of a bigger budget. While Ayan is busy with War 2, he will commence the shooting of Part Two and Part Three after fulfilling his other commitments. Well, the Laal Singh Chaddha actress might have found an apt role in the series.
Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana is also one of the most talked about projects. If reports are to be believed, the movie is being made at a budget of Rs 835 crore, currently making it the most expensive Indian movie. This cinematic adaptation of the Indian Epic, reportedly, also has actors from pan-India, with Yash playing the role of Demon King Ravana. If Ramayana is the project, Bebo will be seen alongside his brother Ranbir Kapoor.
Apart from the above, it could be Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Atlee or any other big director. However, all these are speculations and fans need to wait for an official announcement.
