Kareena Kapoor Khan is currently basking in the glory of the success of Crew. Of course, the other two Tabu and Kriti Sanon also deserve all the appreciation, but it is Bebo who has managed to take a leap ahead of her contemporaries and make a difference in the way Bollywood looks at actresses after they marry and become mothers.
It may not be a big thing for those who now see Alia Bhatt getting back to work within months after delivering Raha. But for the generation of Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kajol, Preity Zinta, Rani Mukerji, and more things were a lot different. Both Rani and Preity are no more mainstream actresses. Kajol although has done some fabulous work after marriage and kids but most of them were typical roles opposite Shah Rukh Khan or for OTT releases.
Years ago big actresses like Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit, and Juhi Chawla would take a hiatus after marriage and kids and then try to make a comeback in the mainstream. Madhuri tried it with Aja Nachle, and Karisma Kapoor tried it with Shakti: The Power. Sri received a good response with her comeback movie English Vinglish and also impressed with her performance in Mom. However, these actresses could not reach the same stardom after marrying and having kids.
But Kareena Kapoor Khan has managed to retain her stardom. Despite being a mother of two kids, she is enjoying a career like regular, young A-listed Bollywood actresses. She was the leading lady in Laal Singh Chaddha when she was pregnant with Jeh, in between Taimur and Jeh Ali Khan she delivered some of the biggest hits like Veere Di Wedding and Good Newwz.
Her performance in Jaane Jaan, her OTT debut was highly noticed and now Crew has ensured that she continues to be among the top 5 most saleable actresses today. Instead of doing the singing and dance roles that she earlier used to do, the Jab We Met actress is now doing meatier roles that give her scope to showcase her talent.
