Atlee, Kapil Sharma
Atlee-produced Baby John starring Varun Dhawan in the lead is all set to release soon. As a part of the promotions the team of Baby John including Varun, the Jawan director, and lead actresses Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi appeared on The Great Indian Kapil Show. Kapil Sharma and his team of Sunil Grover, Kiku Sharda, and Krishna have impeccable comic timing and create moments that trigger a riot of laughter.
But sometimes one line or a sentence that is meant to trigger a light moment turns disrespectful. That is exactly what happened when Atlee appeared recently on The Great Indian Kapil Show. In his typical tone that usually has double meaning, Kapil asked Atlee, “Actually you are so young. I mean aap itne bade producer-director ban gaye hai. Kabhi aapke saath aisa hua hai ki aap kisi star se milne gaye hai first time aur usko laga hi na ho ki aap Atlee hai. Where is Atlee?”
Why do people continue to ask disrespectful questions that demean others for their skin color, and why do others laugh at it?

In reply, the famous director quite sensibly said, “Sir, in a way I understood your question. I will try to answer. I am actually very thankful to AR Murugadoss. Because he produced my first film. He asked the script but he did not see how I was looking, whether I was capable of it or not. But he loved my narration.”
“I think the world should see that. By appearance, we should not judge. By heart you have to judge,” he added. That had the audience clapping and appreciating Atlee. However, the question which indirectly was directed at the appearance and looks of Atlee did not go down well with the fans of this famous director. People slammed Kapil Sharma for having such a nonchalant attitude while asking such a sensitive question and showing no empathy while doing so.
Nevertheless, Atlee showed why he was so successful at such a young age by giving a sensible reply instead of making it a big issue.
