Comedy King Kapil Sharma is back once again on the small screen with his show 'The Kapil Sharma Show' to entertain the audience. Kapil, who is known for impeccable comedy timing and witty one liners, has become a household name across the country. But did you know that Kapil was once rejected by a singing reality show on the same channel where his show is now topping the TRP list.

Kapil who is often seen humming on his show has a soft corner for signing and never leaves a chance to showcase his singing skill, even though he was rejected for his singing.

Yes, you heard it right, Kapil Sharma who aspired to be a singer before he made it big in comedy had auditioned for Sony TV singing reality show Indian Idol, however, he was rejected in the first stage of the audition and didn't even get the chance to sing before the judges.

During an interview with Firstpost Kapil Sharma said, “Even I have auditioned for Indian Idol. I thought I would straight away sing in front of the judges (celebrity judges), but that stage comes much later. In the beginning, you need to perform in front of some unknown people.”

“It’s quite a difficult task to reach that stage,” he added.

Even though Kapil is now one of the highest-paid actors on television, he also had once faced rejections in but he had not let it take him down, rather he made it his stepping stone to achieve the sky.
