The three-day-long pre-wedding event of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant has concluded. Several Bollywood biggies and celebrities from down the South graced the event. Even most of the biggies including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, among others, performed at the event and the moments will be cherished for a long time by many. However, actress Kangana Ranaut took an indirect jibe at the biggies who performed at the bash.
On Monday, Kangana shared a cryptic post on her Instagram story in which she wrote: I have been through worse financial set backs but Lata ji and I are only two people who have massive hit songs (Fashion Ka Jalwa, Ghani Bawli Ho Gayi, London Thumakda, Sadi Galli, Vijay Bhawa, etc) to our credit but no matter how many temptations I got I never danced in the weddings. Many superhit item songs were offered to me, soon I avoided award shows also. It takes strong character and dignity to say no to fame and money, in the world of short cuts. Young generation needs to understand only wealth one can acquire is the wealth of integrity. (sic)
In the backdrop, she shared a throwback report of when legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar turned down an offer of million dollars for singing at a wedding.
Kanganas Insta StoryNotably, the Nightingale of India, Lata Mangeshkar refused to accept the offer of singing at a big wedding. Further, she also said that even if she is offered $5 million, she won't sing at any wedding.
Veteran singer and Lata Mangeshkar's sister Asha Bhonsle earlier revealed that she had refused to sing at a wedding even after being offered a million dollars.
On the dance reality show DID L’il Masters 5, Asha said, “She (Lata Mangeshkar) was offered one million dollars to sing at a wedding. They said, ‘sirf do ghante darshan dijiye (Just come for two hours and attend the wedding)’.” The singer replied, ‘Even if you give me five million dollars I won’t come.”

Asha also recalled a similar incident at the first Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award Ceremony.
Asha had said, “Someone invited us for a wedding. They had tickets worth million dollars or pounds. They said they wanted Asha Bhosle and Lata Mangeshkar. Didi asked me, ‘Will you sing at a wedding?’ I said I won’t, and she then told the rep, ‘We will not sing even if you offer 10 crore dollars, because we do not sing at weddings.’ That person was very disappointed.”
Then, Kangana reacted to Asha’s revelations and called Lata Mangeshkar very inspiring. She wrote, “Agree!!! Even I never danced in weddings or private parties, even though I have the most popular songs… denied insane amount of money… glad to come across the video… Lataji truly so inspiring."
