Jawan, Adipurush, Maidaan and more June releases can put Bollywood at stake

Movies from big banners starring superstars with big budgets are expected to become blockbusters. A lot of investment is at stake. Nowadays, a big part of the investment is dedicated to VFX to enhance the effects in action-oriented movies and even in romantic scenes to bring the magic alive.

However, when such movies fail to do well, the effect is disastrous as it takes the production house or the producer years to recover the losses.

This June 4, big movies are scheduled to release and all of them are big-budget films with huge investments. These movies are Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara’s movie Jawan (2nd June) directed by Atlee, Om Raut’s Adipurush (16th June) starring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon, Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan (23rd June), and Kartik Aaryan’s Satya Prem Ki Katha (29th June).

Jawan

Undeniably, the star cast and the names associated with these movies are big but even the budgets of these movies are pretty high. SRK’s Jawan has been made with a whopping budget of Rs 200 crore. Apart from Southern superstar Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi is also a part of the movie which makes the star cast quite heavy. The good thing for Shah Rukh Khan and Jawan is that Pathaan has already set a tone for how the superstar’s movie will open at the box office. Hence, it is expected that Jawan will undoubtedly do quite well at least for the first few weeks.

Adipurush

Fans have big expectations from Om Raut’s Adipurush which is a fictitious tale based on the mythological epic Ramayana. The last movie of Om, Tanhaji was a big blockbuster and earned a National Award for Ajay Devgn who was also the producer of the film. Since it is a Prabhas movie who is playing the much-revered character of Ram, the expectations are very high. The VFX in the teaser released earlier disappointed the fans and the graphic imagery of the Baahubali actor left the fans upset.

However, Om Raut and the team have reworked on VFX. But will it impress the audience? Nothing can be said about that because the last few movies of Prabhas have not worked well. With more than Rs 600 crores invested in Adipurush, it is going to be a big blow if the movie fails to work.

Importantly, there is not much gap between Jawan and Adipurush’s release 9 (just 13 days gap). So if Jawan continues to run like Pathaan, it can create problems for Adipurush.

Maidaan

Ajay Devgn’s much-awaited sports drama will release in the third week of June. Just like cricket, football has also caught up with the Indians and the trailer has already created a lot of buzzes. The Singham actor currently is getting a good response and his stardom is at its peak with the back-to-back success of Drishyam 2 and Bholaa. Made on a budget of 100 crores, Ajay is doing the role of a coach in Maidaan for the first time and that is one more reason why audiences will flock to the theaters.

Satya Prem Ki Katha

This romantic drama of Kartik and Kiara Advani has been made on a budget of Rs 60 crores. It was Koki’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 that helped Bollywood come out of the strings of failures earlier last year. The pair of Kartik and Kiara have already received a lot of love and the movie is expected to do well.
