John Abraham set to lead big budget superhero franchise; Check details

John Abraham is all set to lead a big-budget superhero franchise Munkeeman in collaboration with Abhishek Sharma. This decision has come as a big surprise to the fans of Dhoom actor as there was not much discussion or buzz about the same in the last few days.

Reports indicate that John Abraham will be playing a career-defining role in this superhero franchise. Incidentally, the duo of John and Abhishek Sharma has already delivered a hit movie Parmanu and hence the expectations of the fans from Munkeeman are high. The first movie from the franchise will go on the floors in the first half of next year and will be bankrolled by producer Mahaveer Jain.

Mahaveer is also producing Kartik Aaryan’s creature comedy Naagzilla which will be helmed by Fukrey-fame director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba.

Buzz around Munkeeman also suggests that it will be a complete hatke entertainer, almost a genre that has not been introduced in Indian cinema to date.

John Abraham is super-excited about Munkeeman

The leading news portal has reported that John Abraham is super excited to be a part of Munkeeman which will be a high-octane as well as visually rich superhero film. According to New18 sources, “Munkeeman is the first film where John Abraham and director Abhishek Sharma are reuniting after Parmanu. It is supposed to be an ambitious, big-budget film meant for a grand theatrical experience."

The makers are yet to decide upon the female lead and other star cast for this superhero flick and are currently looking for options that will suit the various characters in the movie.

Apart from Munkeeman, John also has Rohit Shetty ’s biopic on former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria in his kitty. He is currently busy shooting for the same and will join the schedule of Munkeeman post completing the biopic.
