In a recent conversation on the Our Stupid Reactions podcast, Farhan Akhtar finally addressed the buzz. Putting an end to rumors, the filmmaker clarified that Jee Le Zaraa is very much alive, it has only been 'put on the back burner'. He further revealed that significant pre-production work is already done, including music recordings and location scouting. 

"It's too delicious a script. There's so much work that's already been done on it," said Farhan.

While his assurance revived hopes, Farhan also dropped a detail that left fans a little heartbroken. He refrained from confirming whether the original trio of Priyanka, Katrina, and Alia would still headline the project. 

"I can't comment on the cast anymore... But will the film happen? The film will happen," added Farhan.

The film was initially pitched as a female-led road trip drama, a rarity in mainstream Hindi cinema, which is why audiences were so eager to see these powerhouse actresses together.
