Jawan scripts another record as SRK starrer becomes first Indian film to top Germany box office

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and South lady superstar Nayanthara’s latest release Jawan has scripted history by emerging as the Hindi movie with the highest gross weekend collection (Rs 520.79 crore) worldwide. The Atlee-directed action-thriller has received immense love from moviegoers across the globe.

Social media is flooded with reviews, opinions and appreciation of users. While Atlee continues his magic with his splendid direction, SRK’s impeccable performance and his chemistry with Nayanthara have also wooed movie lovers. Moreover, Vijay Sethupathi’s powerful acting and Deepika Padukone’s impressive performance along with all other characters have undoubtedly impressed everyone.

Recently, Jawan became the first Indian film to claim the top spot at the Australian box office. Now, adding another feather to its cap, Jawan has embarked on another remarkable milestone by becoming the first Indian movie to clinch the top position at the German box office.

Surpassing the earnings of the Hollywood release The Equalizer 3 (EUR 93, 000), Jawan on Monday earned EUR 97, 000.

Jawan released in Germany on Thursday and made it to the 3rd position shattering the opening day collection of Indian movies with EUR 147, 000. With its continual success, on Friday, the movie raked in an additional EUR 15, 000. While the weekend shows witnessed limited showings, Jawan outperformed all other releases on Monday. The cumulative box office total collection for Jawan in Germany in five days soared to EUR 419, 000.

Before Jawan, Pathaan shattered all previous records with EUR 900, 000 collections. Even movies including Kantara, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prema Kahani and Gadar 2 have performed well in Germany. The recent years have witnessed a significant growth of Indian cinema in Germany.
