Jai Hanuman release date postponed! Prasanth Varma opens up on Bollywood actors' inclusion and his cinematic universe

Scripting history with his superhero flick Hanu-Man, south director Prasanth Varma has already elevated the excitement among fans with the announcement of Jai Hanuman. Apart from Jai Hanuman, Varma has officially announced about Adhira. While fans are eyeing for updates on both the movies, as per recent reports Jai Hanuman's release date has been postponed. Moreover, while speculations have been rife about Bollywood actors entering his cinematic universe, Varma opened up about the same. He also confirmed that Adhira will release before Jai Hanuman.

Jai Hanuman postponed!

Earlier, the release date of Jai Hanuman was locked for January 2025. However, now the release date has been pushed. Talking about the reason, Varma said, "Had Hanu-Man made only 100 crores, we would have been finishing Jai Hanuman by now. But since the film earned way more than that, our responsibility has also increased.”

Further, opening up about the film's progress, Varma said that the team is doing a lot of prep and has worked a lot on the script. They are making sure to have everything in the movie that the audience would expect Lord Hanuman Hanuman to do.

Varma said, "All the things you’d want to see him (Lord Hanuman) do on screen, we have included them in the story. It has come out really well and we are building all the assets. The casting is also almost done."

Further, he added that for Hanu-Man, the scenes were shot first and the VFX were added later. However now, the team is prepping for that beforehand. With such plans, the post-production won't take much time. 

"The shoot hasn’t started yet, but we expect to start it soon,” he added.

Furthermore, Varma also confirmed that Adhira will come before Jai Hanuman, and there are two other films planned under his cinematic universe that the team is working on.  

"Other directors are working on it (other films) and the shoot should start for them this month. We are aiming to release at least one or two films every year,” added Varma.

Talking about the inclusion of Bollywood actors in his cinematic universe, Varma said that not just big names in the South film industry, a few popular big actors from Bollywood will also be a part of it. 

Varma revealed, "There are a few actors that I have met and exchanged ideas, but it will take time. Some actors from Bollywood will definitely be a part of the universe that we are building. But it’s still in a very early stage.”
